Laptop Backpack Manufacturer: What Wholesale Buyers Should Specify

文章分类:

If you are sourcing laptop backpacks to sell, the details that decide your return rate are the ones fixed before production starts: the laptop it actually fits, the padding around it, the zippers, and how the strap anchors are sewn. We manufacture laptop backpacks in Guangzhou at MOQ 50 pieces per style, in genuine leather, microfiber, canvas, oxford and nylon.

This guide is written for buyers — what to specify, what it changes, and what to ask a factory before you place an order.

1. Design around one laptop size, not “up to 17 inch”

“Fits laptops up to 17 inch” is the single most common cause of a bad review. A sleeve built for a 17-inch machine is loose around a 14-inch one, and a 16-inch laptop with a thick chassis will not sit flat in a sleeve measured on the screen size alone.

Specify the internal sleeve dimensions in millimetres, not the screen size: for a 15.6-inch laptop, roughly 390 × 275 × 35 mm of usable space. If you sell into the US, students and commuters carry 14 to 16-inch machines; if you sell into Japan or Korea, 13 to 14-inch is the volume segment. Build one hero size properly, then add a second SKU once it sells.

A false bottom — padding under the sleeve, so the laptop never touches the base of the bag if the backpack is set down hard — costs very little and removes a whole category of complaints.

2. Choose the material by market, not by price alone

The same backpack built in three materials sells in three different price brackets, so this decision comes before design work:

  • Genuine cowhide — highest perceived value, ages visibly, and accepts embossing and edge painting. Best for premium retail and men’s business lines.
  • Microfiber leather — consistent colour and thickness, no natural marks, easy to clean, and a retail price your marketplace buyers can still absorb. The workhorse for volume SKUs.
  • Canvas, oxford and nylon — lighter, faster to produce, and the right answer for campus, travel and outdoor segments where weight matters more than hand feel.

If you sell into Russia or northern Europe, ask about water-repellent finishing and cold-weather flexibility — a coating that stays supple below freezing behaves very differently from a stiff PU film.

3. Hardware and zippers are where cheap bags fail

Buyers ask about this more than anything else, and it is worth being specific in your spec sheet:

  • Zipper brand and size (a YKK-equivalent #8 or #10 coil for the main compartment, #5 for pockets)
  • Reverse coil or covered zips for anti-theft models, so the teeth are not exposed
  • Lockable sliders if you sell to commuters
  • Metal vs nylon hardware, and whether it is plated, brushed or powder-coated
  • An RFID-blocking pocket behind the laptop sleeve — a low-cost feature that reads well in listings

4. Comfort details that show up in your reviews

Back panel padding, airflow channels, strap width (50 mm is a safe default for loaded commuter bags), a sternum strap, and a luggage pass-through for travel models. These are not decoration: they are the difference between a four-star and a five-star listing, and they cost a few yuan each at 50 pieces.

5. What we can brand at 50 pieces

Embossed or foil-stamped logo, metal logo plate, woven or printed label, embroidered mark, custom zipper pullers, custom lining print and custom packaging. A fully bespoke pattern — a new shape drawn from your sketches — is a different conversation from customising an existing style; both are possible, and private label leather bags covers what changes between 20, 100 and 500 pieces.

6. Samples in 3 to 5 days, MOQ 50 pieces per style

Our pre-production samples take 3 to 5 days. You approve a physical sample before bulk production starts — the pattern, hardware, stitch density, lining and dimensions are all confirmed at that stage, which is when changes are still cheap. Our minimum is 50 pieces per style, and you can spread it across colours rather than committing to 50 of one colour.

Every bag goes through inspection before shipping, our defect rate is held under 2%, and each bag carries a 3-year warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. The full list is in our leather bag QC checklist.

Frequently asked questions

What is your MOQ for laptop backpacks?

50 pieces per style. You can split that across colours, and reorders of an approved style start from the same figure.

Can you copy a sample I already sell?

Yes. Send the physical product or clear photos with measurements, and we will build a specification from it, then a sample for your approval. We do not copy a competitor’s trademarked logo.

How long does a full order take?

Sample in 3 to 5 days. Bulk production follows after your approval, and the schedule depends on quantity, material availability and season — we give you a written date with the quotation rather than an estimate afterwards. See how we plan lead times.

Do you ship to Amazon and marketplace warehouses?

Yes. We can label and pack to your specification, including individual polybags, barcodes and carton markings. See the US Amazon seller case study for how we handled one.
